Success Stories

Mr. Simmons began working with VLP’s Employment Team when he was unemployed and looking for a full-time career.  VLP tailored and developed a professional resume with Mr. Simmons that showcased his employment history and strengths. Within days of completing his resume, Mr. Simmons applied to various jobs and VLP advocated on his behalf. In preparation for his interviews, VLP conducted mock interviews with Mr. Simmons and helped him create and practice his elevator pitch.  Mr. Simmons is now employed full-time and thriving.  Congratulations Mr. Simmons!

“I was truly blessed by finding VLP.  Their help was tremendous in reinventing myself for new employment.  Straight A’s for VLP!”

Success Stories

Leona, a United States Army Veteran, asked VLP for assistance in locating additional training and employment opportunities.  As a Licensed Practical Nurse, Leona was specifically looking for a career in the medical field.  VLP assisted Leona in editing and tailoring her resume, locating job opportunities in her area and also assisted with paying for car repairs necessary to get to and from interviews and employment opportunities.   Once offered a great career as an LPN, VLP assisted Leona with obtaining work clothing so that she could start right away.  Leona is now working in the field and area that she loves; congratulations Leona!
